My outlook on love♥

Now my concept of love may be very different from yours for a couple of different reasons, such as I am a teenager and everyone's experiences are different. Although I feel like I have a good grasp on the idea of it all. Being that I am in high school I see all the girls fall "in love" time and time again, I myself have even been "in love." The saddest part about high school love is it means nothing, not in all cases but most. Girls say I love you because they think they do but they don't even know the full concept of being in love, that means being there for that person at any time putting there needs before yours. Guys usually just say I love you because, well, we know why! Now don't get me wrong this isn't true for everyone, this is just my personal opinion.
Another thing that I believe influences love today is social media, girls are always in a competition with one another. Clothes , boys and popularity, its in our nature! Today girls post pictures with there boyfriends, tweet about their love life's and post their relationship status everywhere. I personally feel like it affects the single girls because they get the idea that they need someone to feel happy. They look at their friends posts and feel empty. I also feel like we are always looking for love, as soon as we are out of a relationship we immediately look for someone to fill the lost space. Why do we do that to ourselves? Why is it so hard to just be free and young?! In high school it is awful, girls can't be single for a minute, that includes "talking." It's tough though because when you are young and you find someone that makes you happy, you automatically believe it is love.
That is where I think society is wrong, we are all always searching for love when in reality love isn't supposed to be found. Love is supposed to just happen when you least expect it. Trust me, that kid you want to ask you to prom so badly because you think he is the "one", is probably not the love of your life especially because you barely know the guy and he hasn't even talked to you before. We all expect too much from love, we set too high of standards. Instead of looking for love we should let it find us. If there is one thing those cheesy love movies have taught us, it is to find love when you least expect to.
So stop looking for the perfect person to fall in love with! Be yourself, do what makes you happy and you will come across a love you won't even realize until you look back on it. Let it all happen on its own, don't set the bar too high. I hope some of you agree with my concept and leave me your thoughts on love in the comments. Remember, let love find you♥

My team♥

Regionals here we come!

I am beyond proud of my cheer team, we qualified for regionals today for the first time in over 6 years! Nobody will ever understand how great it feels. We have worked so hard this season and the seniors on the team now, including me, have been waiting for this moment since freshmen year. We finally qualified and our hard work is paying off!
Let me describe the feeling: you have been working all season for one moment, you have been punched and kicked a billion times, you have fallen and gotten back up. Blood, sweat and tears all for a single, priceless moment.  Finally when the day comes you are filled with emotions. You are excited but so nervous to make one single mistake that you want to throw up. Your coach is filling you with confidence because she has also been working for this moment year after year. Other coaches keep coming up to your team telling you all "you deserve to go to regionals" and "my team has been scared shitless of your team all season." When its finally time for your team to take the mat you are just in a numb stage, you are anxious but you want to hit a perfect routine so you have to breathe and relax. You take the mat with confidence and the crowd is screaming and on their feet. You just look around and take it all in, as a senior hoping this isn't your last performance. The ready is called. Before you can register anything you are hitting stunts and throwing tumbling. You are smiling, moving your head and screaming your words, throwing flips and doing stunts all so fast you can't even process it all. When you stick your full and go crazy. Each stunt that hits the crowd gets more rowdy. Then its over, just like that you are done. Then you wait for scores, and the anticipation is just building, wondering if you are in the top four ( top four qualifies for regionals) & when your coach announces each place and gets to fifth, you can't breathe. When the words flood out and its not your team you go crazy. "And the teams advancing on to regionals are 4th place Addison" you jump up and go wild, you are crying tears of joy. All the hard practices, injuries and fights fade, all that matters is that moment you have worked so hard and it is bittersweet♥
Moments like that are why I love the sport! I wouldn't trade my team for any other team. I'm so proud of each and every one of them, we deserve this! Next goal is state finals!

Crazy week

So the past week has been a little crazy! We have had tough practices and next to that we are doing a cheer clinic for young girls. Also we have a had numerous snow days at school, which I am not complaining about. Except for the fact that all our cheer competition's have been canceled until today. Today's competition was at Deltaplex in Grand Rapids, this is a really fun competition but it is tough. We competed with all the teams that go to state finals, therefore it was important for us to do good. We did pretty good minus small mistakes but our team use to be really bad so we still have yet make a name for us. It's tough competing with teams that have won state finals year after year. So we sometimes get scored a little lower but we were all within about a 30 point range with the first and second place teams. Next weekend is districts so this week shall be even crazier! So I'll try to post outfit of the day's but I can't promise anything!
Well anyway I thought I should post to update everyone on where I have been. So thanks for checking out my blog and subscribe to my YouTube! Byeeeeeee♥

Advice from Alyssa

Its hard to have dreams sometimes because they seem so unlikely or far fetch, but you have to dream big to be big. All dreams are possible if you put forth an effort! Recently I have been trying to choose a college, I go back and forth between Grand Valley State University and University of Louisville. Its been one of the hardest most refraining decisions I have ever made. Louisville has my dream cheer team, for all you readers that love cheer I'm sure you know they are great. Grand Valley has cheer team too, but it's not as extreme. The problem with Louisville is its so costly and I will not know if I made the cheer team until May at try outs. It makes all things hard, finding scholarships for out of state, housing down payment and other costs that are due before May 1st. This is when my dream is so unlikely but I still have my other option, Grand Valley. Grand Valley has a beautiful campus and affordable tuition, as well as a cheer team. So although Louisville seems like the best school for me, if I didn't make the team it would not be what I wanted. My dream is to cheer in college and at Grand Valley I will get that experience, next to all my other goals for college.
So back to the dream story! My dream was to cheer in college on a really good team, but that is where reality sets in. After college I have other goals in my career and life, cheer not being one of them. So going to a college that will help me in my career but still having the opportunity to cheer makes it worth it. Always follow your dreams just make sure your dream is logical and will benefit you. Not everyone is meant to be Madonna but that doesn't mean you can't be a singer. When you think of a dream see it as a goal, in the long run what will benefit you. Always dream big but think logical♥
